At the recent Minnesota State Auctioneers Association Conference and Show, held in the Minneapolis Metro, Mn in mid-January, the United Country Aasness Auctioneers team received several top honors during the annual event. The Annual Conference and Show features Speakers, Educational Seminars and Networking, the Auctioneer Championship and other auction related events pertaining to the auction industry.

United Country Aasness Auctioneers was honored to receive top awards in the state association’s annual Advertising and Marketing Contest. The company received awards for excellence in multicolor and multi-sided poster and photography divisions. The company has been honored to have received excellence awards every year for 20 plus years.

In the showcase Auctioneer Championships event, Cody Aasness of Fergus Falls, Mn was named the Reserve Minnesota Champion Auctioneer. The Championship consists of a judged preliminary round of live selling along with a finals interview and a final round of selling. Cody is an Auctioneer/Realtor with United Country Aasness Auctioneers Auctions and Real Estate operates out of the company’s Fergus Falls home office. Cody is the son of World/International Champion Auctioneer Cary M. Aasness and Anita Aasness owners of Aasness Auctioneers LLC based out of Fergus Falls and Dalton.

United Country Aasness Auctioneers, founded in 1985, has served the auction industry conducting well over 6000 Auctions, specializing in Real Estate/Land/Lakeshore, Ag/Farm and Equipment Consignment Auctions, Classic and Antique Tractors/Toys, Sporting/Firearms, and also conduct with Estate, Specialty and Benefit Auctions. The company, also members of the North Dakota, Oklahoma and National Auctioneers Association. United Country Aasness Auctioneers conduct auctions and real estate auctions locally, regionally and nationally.

A fishing trip helped create

a “Magical Night” in Mpls,

and Auction held in the end

of November.                                                        

Bidding was fast and furious on the fishing trip for twelve which was to be guided by 3 local Mpls area fishing gurus who came with a reputation of “they can catch the big ones.” When the bidding was done the trip “Sold” for an amazing and record setting $120,000!! Several other live auction items, including a black lab puppy for $16,000, helped raised over $800,000 plus for the annual event.                                     

Cary M. Aasness was the fundraiser auctioneer and worked with and alongside Master of Ceremony Don Shelby. Shelby, very well known not only in the Minneapolis metro but also outside the confines of Minnesota, is an iconic and now retired WCCO-TV Mpls broadcaster as well as twice Pulitzer Prize winner in broadcasting.     

Cary commented it was a lot of fun to work alongside Don; a big thanks to him, the Mortenson Construction Group, the director and staff of the foundation and the many in attendance! They truly are the best and so believe in the cause to find a Cure! The bidding was tremendous with great participation; it indeed was a magical night!!
